How Has Photography Changed Your Life?
There’s quite a lot to learn about being a photographer beyond just snapping the shutter and looking at the LCD screen.
At last year’s Society for Photographic Education conference in San Francisco, we asked over 100 students and world-leading educators a series of questions, including how photography changed their lives, what’s their favorite photo toy and what they thought the future of photography will look like.
This week’s installment features selections from these interviews on the topic of “How has photography changed your life?” There have been a wide range of repsonses to this topic and it’s exciting to see how photography can be a life force and a constant source of inspiration. We hope you can find some inspiration in what we’ve captured.
The visual arts have never been more exciting, from the old-school darkroom to the new world of digital capture, photography is allowing us to see more of the world than ever before. A big “thank you” to all who participated in these intriguing interviews, for sharing your dreams, insights and perspectives in this changing visual world. We look forward to seeing you in March at SPE’s 50th anniversary conference in our hometown of Chicago, March 7-10, 2013.
