The Best Photo Tools
What are your favorite photo tools?
There’s quite a lot to learn about being a photographer beyond just snapping the shutter and looking at the LCD screen. At last year’s Society for Photographic Education conference in San Francisco, we asked over 100 students and world-leading educators a series of questions, including how photography changed their lives, what their favorite photo tool was, and what they thought the future of photography will look like.
This week’s installment features selections from these interviews on the topic of “What’s your favorite photography tool?” There are a wide range of responses to this question and it’s exciting to see how using a certain piece of equipment can direct a photographer’s vision and creative inspiration. We hope you can find some inspiration in what we’ve captured.
The visual arts have never been more exciting, from the old-school darkroom to the new world of digital capture, photography is allowing us to see more of the world than ever before. A big “thank you” to all who participated in these intriguing interviews, for sharing your dreams, insights and perspectives in this changing visual world. We look forward to seeing you in March at SPE’s 50th anniversary conference in our hometown of Chicago, March 7-10, 2013.
